During this gloomy month of January, especially with the current level of restrictions in place, why not hold a Burns Night celebration for your family, or gather your family and friends over Zoom for a virtual celebration and raise some money for the ME Trust at the same time?
Burns Night is a traditional celebration of the life and work of Scotland’s best loved poet, Robert Burns (1759-1796).The official date for Burns Night 2021 is Monday, 25th January, but you can choose to hold it on a night to suit you.
Our long-time supporter and authentic Scotsman, Will Bissett, has put together some suggestions for the evening, as well as providing 2 videos: Introduction & Selkirk Grace and Tae a Haggis (addressing the Haggis) and some classic bagpipe tunes for you to use during the evening as suggested.
Like many charities, our ability to fundraise has been severely impacted by the ongoing pandemic, so we would ask for a minimum £10 donation to use these resources. You may like to ask any friends / family you virtually invite to make a donation as well. Your donations will help us to continue providing much needed clinical services to people with ME/CFS. You can make your donation here.
We’d love to see and share any photos from your Burns Night celebration, so please do send these to: [email protected]
