Making a Donation
Bursary Fund
We want to provide help and support for everyone with ME/CFS regardless of their financial circumstances. We currently offer a bursary of up to 50% of the fees we charge for people who are in financial need. If you would like to help more people to access our services please consider making a donation to our bursary fund. Every penny will go to support the care and treatment of people with ME/CFS.

Major Gifts and Legacies
Major Gifts
A gift of £1,000 or more would make a significant difference to our work. If you are considering making a major gift to the ME Trust we would very much like to talk to you to ensure that your gift is spent on something important to you.
For example:
- £1000 would enable us to make a short film to help train physiotherapists in techniques to help ME patients manage their sleep, rest and exercise
- £5,000 would support the cost of an ME Nurse
- £12,000 would provide a Doctor offering free face to face consultations to new patients in a clinic.
Legacies:
Our vision is to bring hope and transformational care to all affected by ME/CFS by developing a national network of trained doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals who understand this chronic illness and can support people with ME/CFS and their families and carers. One way to help us achieve this goal is to leave us a gift in your will. Once you have taken care of your family and loved ones, many people decide to give a final gift to the causes that they have been passionate about.
If you would like to know more about leaving a legacy to the ME Trust, please speak to Helen Winning, Chief Executive for a conversation in the strictest confidence. Contact [email protected]
Gift Aid your donation
If you are a UK taxpayer, every £1 you give will be worth 25p more to us, at no extra cost to you, if you Gift Aid it. Thank you.

Events
Sadly we have had to cancel our Events until the Government lifts restrictions on gatherings.
Meanwhile, why not hold a Souper Lunch in February. You can find more details and resources here.
We will announce plans for future events as soon as possible.
The Power of 10
Look out for news soon of our fundraising initiative during ME Awareness Week.

Sponsored Events
Join in one of our sponsored events or make up your own.
We have had to cancel our Big Onesie Walk in May due to coronavirus, but that shouldn’t stop you from putting on a Onesie at home and finding somewhere to walk locally as part of your daily exercise.

For those who are completely housebound, just put on a Onesie and find an indoor challenge – how about a sponsored silence, or learning a poem to perform to family and friends via facetime.
Anything that will raise awareness of people with ME who were already isolated before the current lockdown. Raise some money and send us your photos to [email protected]
Challenge Events
Challenge yourself and raise money for The ME Trust.
Outdoor events are particularly difficult at the moment due to the ongoing effects of public lockdown. We hope to set up an Abseil challenge in the Autumn when it is possible to do so.
Fundraising Ideas
There are many ways for individuals, families, voluntary groups, churches and schools to get involved with supporting our work. From simply holding a fundraising coffee morning or an Afternoon Tea for ME with a cake stall to arranging a fundraising concert in a local church or school, you could be making a significant difference to the lives of people who might have been bedbound with ME/CFS for many years.
Download a fundraising pack that is full of ideas and a “How To” guide here.
Please tell us if you plan to organise a fundraising event.
We can:
- provide a template for posters, flyers, bunting and sponsorship forms
- help you publicise your event on our website and let everyone know how you
got on afterwards - provide information about the work of the Trust
Please contact us if you would like someone to come to your fundraising event to speak about the work of The ME Trust.
